Meet Doctor JET
My name is Dr. Joel Erron Terry. The purpose of this page is to offer my patients a little perspective about myself and how I came to form JET Performance Chiropractic. So, let’s start off near the beginning:
During a promising freshman season of high school track and field, a lower back injury sidelined me for weeks. After many conventional treatments through medicine and physical therapy I was no closer to returning to competition. It was at that point my life changed when I was introduced to chiropractic care. After being treated by my mother’s long time chiropractic physician I was back on the track and symptom free. From that point chiropractic care helped me experience continued athletic success for years to come.
This experience described above was influential enough to determine the path of my professional and personal life. From that point on I have spent my life learning of the importance in the relationship between the body’s form and function. It is my honest belief that everyone can benefit from the life changing potential of chiropractic care as part of a healthy lifestyle. These benefits are regardless of your current goals in life. We all need to perform every-single-day, whether that involves playing with our children, going for an evening walk or running a marathon. It doesn’t matter what you are trying to accomplish, if the current form of your body isn’t allowing it to function properly, you will not be able to reach your potential. This applies to everything in your body, from muscles and bones to the complexities of immune function. Knowing this, it is my professional and life goal to help every one of my patients perform up to their own individual potential and goals in life. I want you to be able to perform, in your life, and for the rest of your life.
The above paragraph covers the main points I really want people to know and understand about me, but if you are still interested, here is a little more information on myself and how I came to Kansas City:
I moved to Kansas to attend Cleveland Chiropractic College. I completed the four year doctoral program in an accelerated ten trimesters, and was further distinguished by graduating with high honors near the top of my class . As well as helping many of my patients reach their potential during my time in the College Outpatient Clinic; I also gained further experience through an externship at the Kansas City Veterans Hospital, and again during a post graduate internship at “Williams Chiropractic Clinic” in Olathe, Kansas.
Prior to my professional training I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree from Northwest Missouri State University, and again graduated with honors. During my undergraduate studies I was a highly decorated student track athlete, ranking in the nation’s top ten twice, as a twelve time MIAA All-Conference and Academic All-Conference Athlete, and as a recipient of the Presidential Scholar Athlete Award. To this date one school at NWMSU as a Sprint Hurdler.
While at Northwest Missouri State, I discovered a passion for all things related to Cycling. I found this first in the form of mountain biking with my friends and currently in competitive road cycling in the Kansas City area. While my racing experience is still growing, I am greatly enjoying the cycling subculture and can frequently be found at area group rides hanging with the front of the pack. My true enjoyment of the sport and all the wonderful people it has allowed me to meet has prompted my interest in providing the benefits of chiropractic to all cyclists in the Kansas City area. While my clinic doors are open to anyone interested in improving their performance in life, I especially look forward to catering to my fellow cyclists.
I hope this blog gives my patients an Idea of who I am and where I come from during our journey toward reaching our potentials together,
Hope to see you at JET Performance soon,
Dr. JET
